Healthy Happenings - July 2007
Hello again from Healthy Happenings – where you can learn how to eat well and stay healthy all in a matter of minutes.
This month you can read about the latest amazing research that suggests that Mum’s could provide their children with life-long protection against heart disease simply by eating broccoli sprouts during pregnancy - even if the children never eat a sprout themselves. Of course, the children would be even healthier if they did! The same researchers suggest that just eating 200 grams or less of broccoli sprouts every other day may be enough to prevent or delay the onset of diseases such as hypertension, or possibly even Alzheimer's. Also read below to find out the latest exciting news about Farmer Bill’s Baby Peeled Carrots and how our motorsport team fared at the recent 6-hour endurance race at Pukekohe. Remember – You can still go in the draw to win free hot laps for you and a friend in the Sun Sprout race car at Pukekohe. The draw closes on the 7th September so be in quick!
