The Sun Sprout race car is driven by long-time motorsport enthusiast Sun Sprout Managing Director, Stephen Dench.
Stephen’s initial entry into motorsports was when he converted a Datsun Sunny into semi race car that he could use for general daily use as well as a weekend race car for club events and Intermarque racing
During the mid 90's Stephen started building a Series 1 RX7 for the RX7 one make series, utilising some of the engineering skills he gained at University. He spent two years completing the car as budget allowed and campaigned the car in the RX7 one make series for two seasons - competing in numerous club events, Intermarque series, hill climbs and national race events.
After taking a six-year break to allow time to enjoy his young family, Stephen purchased the Sun Sprout Mazda 1989 Series 5 RX7 in early 2006 and spent 18 months rebuilding it.
